Total Immersion Project (TIP)

The Total Immersion Project was founded in 1996 with an agreement between the South Boston District Court and the Gavin Foundation. The TIP was the first program of its kind and was designed to address the issue of recidivism amongst substance-addicted offenders of violent crimes.

Since its’ founding TIP has grown to include the District Courts of Dorchester, Quincy, Hingham, Somerville, and Brighton in addition to South Boston.

In conjunction with the Commonwealth’s respective probation departments, the Gavin Foundation has found that over half of the roughly 100 individuals who come through the program on an annual basis complete the program goals.
