This painting of the Boston Massacre is depicting that both the British and the colonists are fighting each other during this event. There is one person that is seen getting harmed and his name is Crispus Attucks; he was the first person killed in the Boston Massacre. The British are shown with guns and the colonist are shown with clubs. There are three other men that looked armed as well. This shows that during the Boston Massacre both the British and colonists were attacking, and that is was not just one side harming the other. This is unlike other images that depict the British soldiers harming unarmed colonists. Also, the painter depicts Crisps Attucks, who was one of the five colonists that was killed during the Boston Massacre.
