Personal Life

Congressman Lynch grew up in South Boston with an ironworker father and a post office worker mother. His parents and his five sisters were raised in the Old Colony housing projects in South Boston. It was a lower-working class, Irish Catholic neighborhood. 

Congressman Lynch has been married to Margaret Shaughnessy since 1992. They have a daughter named Victoria Bailey Lynch and custody of Margarets' niece, Crystal Shaughnessy. The four of them live in South Boston. Lynch and his wife are both Roman Catholic, but the Congressman does not like to publicize his faith.
