Perhaps one of the most iconic images of the Revolutionary War is the image recounting the events of the Boston Massacre. The very first engraving was created by Henry Pelham not long after the massacre and was subsequently popularized by Paul Revere who recreated it. The image is a true question in the limits of contemporaneous sources; is it propaganda created by the side of the resistance? Is it true to real life events despite the conflicting recorded accounts from both sides?
